Like most children I felt inspired to express myself by drawing, using whatever i could get my hands on to mark down onto the page those things i saw around me to help me make sense of the world. Due to going to university to study fine art this form of expression continued on into my adulthood turning inwards. I have slowly learnt to deepen my process over the years and now use the act of creation as a way of exploring my inner landscape, my feelings, hopes and dreams reveal themselves to me through images. This opening up of the imagination has in turn made my life richer, broader and fuller sending me on an inner journey of self exploration. I also have began experimenting with natural pigments, making my own watercolour paints, natural inks, and dyes, and paper using the plants found growing locally as this gives me a deeper connection to the materials that im using. Lately I have felt that the pictures are trying to tell a story and so im feeling a pull towards illustrating at present. Im interested in exploring this further and would be interested in any commissioned illustrative work. For commisions please feel free to email me. You can view my work on my facebook page, and I have a folksy page.
